children

Welcome to First Evangelical Free Church Children’s Ministry where we desire to guide children, birth through the fifth grade, to grow to become healthy followers of Jesus Christ.  Each week FEFC Children’s Ministry provides four unique age-appropriate learning opportunities for children to grow and know Jesus.

What to Expect

Our Children’s Ministry (CM) Department is located in the West Wing of our building.  Friendly faces will greet you in our CM Welcome Center where each child will receive two computer-printed labels with a matching randomly selected number code.  One label is for your child and the other is for the parent as a receipt to use when picking up your child.  (First-time visitors will be asked to fill out a registration form.)

If your child has any allergies, you will be asked to put the appropriate colored wristband on your child’s wrist to alert teachers.  You are welcome to escort your child to his or her classroom.

Great effort is made to make our CM Wing safe and secure.  All CM workers have Criminal Record and Child Abuse clearance checks and are identified by a CM Servant badge. No one is allowed in classrooms or hallways unless they are dropping off or picking up children.

Following the service, you are free to pick up your child at the classroom in the CM Wing.  Be expecting to show your ‘receipt’ label to enter the CM Wing or classroom area.  We have security people that patrol our hallways at all times.

About Us

Our Mission
Our mission is to guide children to become healthy followers of Jesus Christ.

OUR Strategy
What happens when you combine yellow and red? You get orange. So our strategy is to use the Orange Curriculum because it does an excellent job combining the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the family (red) to create a greater impact of the gospel on the hearts of children.

Core Values

  • God-centered – We desire that all we do be centered in God and His Word.
  • Purposeful – We desire to be excellent and purposeful in all we do.
  • Safe – We desire to provide a physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually safe environment for all children.

Security

  • All CM Workers are required to have Criminal and Child Abuse background checks.
  • Everyone must enter CM Wing and check in at the Welcome Center.
  • During all CM programming, the CM Wing is in lock-down mode.  No one is allowed in the CM Wing without authorization.  All outside entrances are locked.
  • CM Workers wear identification badges.
  • Children have computer labels.  (Nursery and Preschool also uses pagers.)
  • Parents must use corresponding labels/pagers to pick up child.
