We desire to reach out and expand, as God leads, in order to impact our community with God’s Truth and to offer hope, support and safety to those who are needy.

Pittsburgh Region International Student Ministries reaches out to international students and scholars attending downtown campuses. FEFC partners with PRISM through a variety of ministry opportunities in order to reach out in Christian love to those who are very far from home. Forming relationships in a culturally-safe environment opens doors for introducing these students to Christ. We will provide the training-but we need you to provide the hand that reaches out to them in love.

FEFC partners with PRISM to…

  • … provide ‘Friendship Partners’. Becoming a FP allows you to host international students in your home and include them once a month in some activity with your family, demonstrating the love of Christ through hospitality.
  • … host open house dinners. These dinners provide an opportunity to serve a real need and to form relationships with students who are often lonely and dealing with language and culture adjustments. Throughout the year we travel to the University of Pittsburgh campus to host 30-70 international students in a larger context. We always need more help, so please contact us if you are interested in serving in this way.

MONTHLY PRAYER GATHERINGS – At FEFC we recognize that prayer is not only commanded by the Lord but a very powerful way to partner in God’s work both locally and around the world. Once each month prior to the Sunday Morning Classes, we meet at 8:30 AM in the Blue Room in the Main Hall to intercede in prayer for our local and international partners. We do this with the help of a special prayer guide for each partner that can be obtained in the Church Office.

There are always opportunities to serve by lending a hand with cleaning, painting and other maintenance tasks. If you or your small group want to get involved, please contact the church.

White Cross is a group of dedicated women who meet on the third Thursday of each to support the work of Tandala Hospital in the People’s Republic of Congo, a health facility operated by the Evangelical Free Church through its missions arm, Reach Global.  The women sew layettes, bandages, boys’ shorts and girls’ dresses for needs of the people who come to the hospital.

If you would like to be involved in White Cross, please contact the church office.

If you would like to know more about these ministries or get involved we’ll get you plugged into our community. Contact us here.
